The NFL playoffs start this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. We have historic rivalries, rematches from playoffs past, young quarterbacks on the verge of stardom, and a couple stars looking for their second Super Bowl. To think that we have a playoff without Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, or Lamar Jackson is wild to think. The true excitement I feel for these playoffs is the fact that both conferences are so wide open. There are truly several teams that could win both conferences and fight for a Super Bowl. I think the 2025 season has a ton of intrigue. Unlike recent years, I feel like there’s a lot of uncertainty among the best teams in the country. Teams like Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, and Notre Dame are all Top 10 in the preseason poll, but also have unproven quarterbacks stepping in. Additionally, there are storylines across the country that add more drama. Will a non-SEC team win the National Championship for the third straight year? Does another non-quarterback win the Heisman? How good is Arch Manning during his first year as a starter? All those answers will become clear in just a few months, now let’s get to some predictions.
For a draft that was said to be missing the “star power” of previous years, the 2025 Draft had more than it’s fair share of drama. From the Shedeur Sanders slide to a trade for the #2 overall pick, there was plenty of excitement in this draft. Even though some said it lacked star power, it was a deep class in some key positions. This draft was loaded at and will likely shape the positions of running backs, defensive tackles, and tight ends for years to come.
